The Suite Life of Blackhawks Games

Although I am one that will typically spend more money on experiences rather than stuff, I do have a limit! Clayton and I have a lot of trips planned this year and we've already done a tone of traveling which has been awesome.

When we were approached about going to a Hawks game, we obviously wanted to go. The only issue was that this game was in the middle in the week and on our anniversary. Clayton had already requested the day off so that we could do something together. We also struggled with whether or not we wanted to spend that day as just the 2 of us, or if we didn't mind going to the game with Clayton's family. Then his family told us that the game was going to be in a private suite...so that made the decision pretty easy! Free food, free booze, and private seats: SIGN US UP! Plus, Clayton was pretty excited to wear his Chelios jersey. (P.S. if you missed the story of that jersey, you should head over to my Instagram)

High Rolling

We had no idea what to expect to be honest. I mean, the last game we went to we sat in the nose bleeds and limited ourselves to 2 drinks a piece because they are so dang expensive! We knew that there would be free food and alcohol in the suite, but what we walked into was a whole other world. We walked into a full buffet with nachos, tacos, chicken strips, mac and cheese, and so much more. The bar was fully stocked as well. I didn't drink but I know Clayton enjoyed his fair share!

My jaw literally dropped when I walked into the room. I could not have prepared myself for this level of luxury. We also had a private bathroom and the most comfortable stadium seats I have EVER been in. 3 TVs in the suite, a lounge couch, a closet for all our coats and bags, and the Hawks magazine for all of us. It felt like we were really living the high life and oh man is it going to be hard to go back to those nose bleed seats.

Oh, and let's not forget the dessert cart. A literal, Harry Potter style dessert cart, came rolling up to our door and we could take whatever we wanted. Cheese cake, ice cream, cookie dough, brownies, Bailey's shots, popcorn, and more were up for grabs. I took the cutest little Blackhawks cookie and a bowl of cookie dough!

I know it sounds a little ridiculous and like I'm exaggerating, but like I said, Clayton and I are pretty frugal, so we are not used to this luxury. We just really took it all in and enjoyed the experience. We could not thank his family and their friend who was able to hook us up with the tickets.

OT Winner

Not only did we enjoy every moment in the suite, but the game was a great one too! The Hawks played decently and were up 1-0 in the first. Colorado tied it up in the 2nd to make things a little more interesting. The Hawks scored again in the 3rd, only to have it called off due to the puck being kicked into the net. Suddenly we found ourselves in an OT showdown.

I was excited to see OT live, but it makes my heart race. The puck dropped, and while Clayton and I were pulling out our phones, 9 seconds in, Toews scored! The UC lit up! Ironically, Toews hasn't had a great season, but he's been the number 1 star for both games we went to. So to sum things up, we sat in the best suite, had the best food, and watch the Hawks win in OT...pretty sweet if you ask me.
