The Perfect Sunday Routine

Sundays are sacred to me....and not for any religious reason. Sundays are my day to catch up, prepare for the week ahead, and take care of myself! When people try to make plans with me on Sundays, I have to be really picky about which invitations I accept! With a hockey game to work pretty much every Sunday and my favorite show on in the evening, there is a lot to take care of in-between! Keep reading for my perfect Sunday routine!

1. Meal Prep
I make sure to make as many lunches for the week as possible! There aren't a lot of options for lunch where I work so I pretty much have to make lunch if I want to eat! Also, I think spending money on lunches every day can be very draining on my bank account. I've got student loans to pay off, and no fast food meal will taste as good as paying those debts off!! Anyway, Clayton can be pretty temped with eating out, so I make lunches for him too. Plus pre-making my lunches saves me time throughout the week, and they tend to be much healthier! I highly recommend making at least a few meals on Sunday nights. You will have SO much less stress during the week!
2. Skin Care. Skin Care. Skin Care

Now, this isn't something I only focus on on Sunday's, but this is certainly when my skin gets a deep clean! I've been trying out the 10 step Korean Skincare craze and I am definitely seeing some improvements in my skin and to be honest, it's not as time-consuming as it may sound! I'm also a firm believer in taking care of your skin while you're young. You only get one skin for the rest of your life so you better take care of it! I have dry skin so I take the time to do moisturizing sheet masks, deep exfoliation, and extra hydrating night creams on Sunday. My skin thanks me on Monday morning!
3. Blog/Biz Work
It wouldn't be a Sunday night without a little blogging and business work. I also let my sheet masks and exfoliator sit while I do this step. I try to prep several blogs for the week and edit photos for Instagram. With the launch of the new t-shirts, I've also been busy spreading the word to fellow hockey friends! If you're interested you can check them out here :) I also include any "career enhancing" activities in this section too. I've been watching lots of videos to enhance my graphic design skills in order to make the blog bigger and better!
4. Outfit Prep
Now, this is the one that people always make fun of me for! I will look at the weather for the week and pick out my outfits for the week. I will admit that I don't always get this done on Sundays, but when I do, it makes for a much better morning before work! I know it might seem ridiculous to plan out your outfits, but I love planning and I tend to look much more put together when I've planned these out! I know the weather can change or my plans can change, and yes, I have learned to be adaptive!!
5. Walking Dead

When 8 o'clock rolls around, no one better interrupt me. I will not answer my phone and I DO NOT make plans during this time. People think I'm crazy, but Walking Dead is my favorite show and it is part of my "me time" that I'm just not willing to give up. I've been watching this show since High School and I'm not stopping now! Everyone should have a favorite show that they carve out time to in order to unwind and mindless stare at the TV. It's okay to not always be doing something productive! (something I have to remind myself)
6. Read
This one is big for me. I set a goal to read 18 books this year and so it is very important to schedule time to fit that in. I'm a big believer in "the more you learn the more you earn" and that knowledge is power. Reading is one of the best ways to learn and I've loved reading since I was very young. I have a variety of genres on my current reading list and if you have any suggestions, definitely leave them below! Reading is also a great way to take a break from all the screens. Light candles, get cozy, and find a good book! It's magical lol P.S. I'm in the middle of How to Win Friends and Influence People...and it's solid! I recommend.
So that's pretty much it. I find time for all these things on my Sunday nights and they make me a happier and healthier person! I think everyone should have a Sunday night routine so that they can feel ready and prepared for the week! What are your favorite things to do on Sundays? How do you get ready for the week?
Sounds simply perfect. especially the skincare part...😉
