What to Do About the Hawks?

Where Do We go From Here?

As any fan knows, every team has it's ups and downs however, as a Blackhawks fan, it's not often that we experience depressing performances from our team (well, at least the younger generation of Hawks fans haven't had to). Thus far the 2017-2018 season has left a lot to be desired as a Hawks fan and with an embarrassing loss to the RedWings this past weekend, we are all wondering how the Hawks will fare during the 2nd half of the season.

Could the loss have been a fluke? Sure. Happens to the best teams, but when you beat the Central Division leading Jets 2 days earlier, it's all a little puzzling. They currently sit last in the division and are 3 points out of the Wild Card spot...which is very unfamiliar territory. If the Hawks have hopes of making the playoffs for the 10th straight season, their frankly going to have to get it together. It's going to be a playoff photo finish for sure. And as a fan, I wouldn't be mad if some Central Division teams started falling off during this 2nd half.

The Forsaken IR

Another major question remains: When will Corey Crawford return? I've heard rumors that he's not necessarily injured, but that he might be in rehab. I have not investigated these rumors or done any digging, but I was told that by a fellow Hawks fan. It could all be speculation, but just thought I'd throw that out there. Do any of you guys know or have heard anything like that?

A player that does seem like he is coming around is Artem Anisimov. He's been seen on the ice during practices and albeit briefly, it is nonetheless an improvement. There is a stir about where exactly Artem will fit into the line up when he finally does return. Schmaltz has stepped up in his position as 2nd line center during Anisimov's absence. It looks like Anisimov may be skating back on the 3rd line when he returns to the lineup.

Hopeful Hawks Fan

The Hawks future is very unpredictable at the moment. There are a lot of variables in the mix but as any good fan, I am staying hopeful. Besides, the Hawks are notorious for making a comeback in a grand fashion. They'll give us all a heart attack in the process, but we live for that adrenaline.
